  Question 2

Which kind of dictionary do you like to use?

  你喜欢用哪种字典?

Well, personally, I prefer to use monolingual dictionary, 'cause the English explanation of a word can help me have a better and more correct understanding of that word. So I have downloaded an Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary in my phone, and it has helped me a lot.

  Question 3

Do you think the dictionary is useful?

  你认为字典有用吗?

Yeah! It's super useful, I mean, it helps me become more independent of my English teacher, and it has expanded my vocabulary quite a lot. I can enjoy the pleasure of reading English novels without getting stuck on words that I don't know.

  Question 4

What are the benefits of using dictionary for kids?

  使用字典对孩子有什么好处?

Like I said, dictionary can help learner autonomy, I mean, when kids are at home studying, with the help of a dictionary, they don't need to ask teachers for help anymore. And besides knowing the meaning of a word, they can also learn about how to use the word from examples provided in the dictionary, which is helpful for their writing and speaking skills.

  Question 5

Do you prefer electronic dictionary or paper version?

  你喜欢电子词典还是纸质词典?

  1. Definitely electronic ones, 'cause like I mentioned earlier, it's time-saving, more efficient. Plus, they are readily available in App Stores. We can conveniently download them to our smartphone. Besides, most of them have awesome functions, like...they can record the word you looked up, and help you review them.

  2. I like them both. I've got a wide range of paper dictionaries for English learning, and it was really a help when I was at university. But now I prefer the electronic one since it can easily go with me.

  Question 6

How often do you use your dictionary?

  你多久用一次字典?

I use an electronic English dictionary on a daily basis, since I am used to browsing an English news app during commuting and can spot some new words or phrases so often.

  Question 7

What kinds of dictionaries have you used before?

  你以前用过什么字典?

It won't be an overstatement to call me an English dictionary buff. I have Oxford English dictionary, Cambridge English dictionary for sure, and I also have an oral English dictionary, a dictionary for English slang, a dictionary for euphemism, a dictionary for collocation, a dictionary for grammar. Oh the list can go on and on. But in a nut shell, they are all for English learning.

  Question 8

How will dictionaries change in the future?

  词典在未来会如何变化?

I believe no matter the dictionary is paper or digital, it is to satisfy user's need. So in the future, paper dictionary will provide more than just a book. Maybe more dictionaries will have their own websites and online versions and develop into a community covering more than just language learning.
